Julia Montero
I believe everyone deserves a space where they can feel heard, understood, and accepted for who they are. Growing up can come with a lot of changes, questions, and expectations, and it can sometimes be difficult to know where you fit or how to make sense of what you’re experiencing. I want to create a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself and explore these experiences openly.

About Me
Primary Location/Service Area: Virtual across Ontario
Registering Body: OCSWSSW
Growing up and figuring out who you are can come with a lot of uncertainty. You may be trying to feel more confident in yourself, understand where you fit in with friends, navigate changes in your family, or manage emotions that feel difficult to handle. You may also be adjusting to a major change in your life and finding that things no longer feel the way they used to. Therapy can be a place to slow down and better understand what is happening for you. Whether you are struggling with self-esteem, relationships, difficult emotions, or a big life transition, my role is to offer a supportive space where you can feel understood and work toward changes that feel right for you.
For parents, seeing your child struggle can bring its own questions and concerns. You may be wondering what has changed, what your child needs from you, or how to stay connected when communication feels difficult. Having support can help you better understand what your child may be experiencing while finding ways to strengthen your relationship and support them through challenging times.
Experience:
I have a particular interest in supporting teen and young mothers as they navigate pregnancy, becoming a parent, and the changes that come with this stage of life. During this time, there can be uncertainty about your identity, your relationships, your future, and whether you are doing things “the right way.” You may be adjusting to responsibilities you did not expect to have, while also trying to figure out who you are becoming. My goal is to offer a safe space for all of these feelings, both the ones that are easy to talk about and the ones that are harder to admit.
As a Registered Social Worker, I bring a person-centered approach to my work and offer my services in both English and French. I believe that each person’s experiences are shaped by the relationships, community, and circumstances around them, and that understanding those parts of your life is an important part of understanding you. I value building a genuine and collaborative relationship with those I work with and taking the time to understand what matters to you.
